Gift Ideas For Someone Traveling To Thailand

Buying gifts for travelers isn’t always easy! And you want to get them something that they will actually use on their next trip.

Below I’m going to list out some gift ideas for someone traveling to Thailand, or anywhere really! And while you may have seen many of these lists in your search for the perfect gift, this will be a budget-friendly list. No £1000+ drones or action cameras – While they would be nice 🙂

These items are what I have and use or items that I currently have my eye on and want to buy. I only have some much room in my bag and I like to travel light, so travel gadgets that have multiple uses and don’t take up to much space.

Gift Ideas For Someone Traveling To Thailand

This my current ‘top 10’ gifts for someone traveling. Most, if not all on this list I own and use every time I travel to Thailand.

1. Shredded Memory Foam Travel Pillow

The travel pillow is first on my list, for a very good reason! It’s one of the most popular travel items for long haul flights.

I own this very one! And it comes with me on every trip, amazingly comfortable and packs down nice and small.

2. RAVPower 26800mAh Portable Charger

Never leave home without one. We all have gadgets that will need charging and this will do the job nicely. While it is a little on the larger side and you can get smaller portable chargers, I’m happy to give up the extra space for the 26800mAh of power.

3. LifeStraw Water Bottle

I had one of these given to me as a gift a few years back. It’s an item I’d seen on many lists and was something I passed over. I was so wrong!
Really handy for countries like Thailand where the water isn’t filtered or if your off hiking and you don’t trust the water source. Just fill this up and go!

I’ve never had any issues from drinking water from the LifeStraw, and it’s now something I take on all my travels.

4. Microfibre Towel

Love these microfiber towels, they fold up nice and small and are super absorbent. Perfect for traveling, use them in the hotel or at the beach and if you get one of the smaller hand towels, it makes for a handy towel to carry around with you.

5. Passport Holder

Now it’s more than likely that the person you’re looking to get a travel gift for already has a passport holder. But! if not it will be the perfect gift to get them. Something nice and simple that can hold a passport, plane tickets and if needs be some cards and a little bit of money.

6. Anti Mosquito Room Refresher And Insect Repellent

While this might not seem the most exciting gift to get someone, but if they say they get bitten a lot while traveling this can help!
I put this out in my room and so far I’ve not been bitten – that often. Before using this I would get bitten all the time. Hated it.

I also use the Incognito Insect Repellent Spray and Java Citronella Hair & Body Wash for good measure! As I said, I get bitten a lot and these really do help.

7. OverBoard Waterproof Dry Bag

While I see a lot of lists showing duffel bags, I very rarely come across a waterproof dry bag. Nothing wrong with a good duffel bag!

I own this one and use it as my day bag when going to the beach or day trips out. Handy at keeping everything dry, from your wallet, money to your camera or drone. They also float! So if you do drop your bag into the sea, you have a chance at recovering your items 🙂

8. Croc’s Flip Flops

OK, stay with me on this once! I know Croc’s are not for everyone and sadly for my family and friends I’m someone that loves them lol… I have to say the flip flops are the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. When I’m out in Thailand I pretty much wear these all the time.

I do also own bright green Croc’s Classic Clogs, so if the person you’re looking for loves Croc’s you really can’t go wrong with these flip flops! And they are really hard-wearing so will last a long time.

9. Go Travel Travel Security Clip Pouch

I’ve had this pouch for years now, while I’ve never been pickpocketed it’s sometimes worth keeping money or cards out of sight.
It’s about the right size to hold your ATM card and some folded up money and clips your belt or trousers with no issues.

10. Lonely Planet Thai Phrasebook & Dictionary

You can’t go wrong with getting someone that’s planning a trip to Thailand by getting them a good book to learn some Thai before they go and while they are on their travels.

This is a nice small pocket-sized book but packed full of helpful phrases and information.

Conclusion
