Bangkok Hotels

Some of my Bangkok hotels picks, as with my other hotel posts I’ve stayed in all of these Bangkok hotels. I hope they are some help to you, or at least give you an idea of some of the hotels you have to pick from.

Woraburi Sukhumvit

OK, so I’ll admit I’m biased to this hotel as this was the first place I stayed back in 2004. Over the years I’ve stayed here a number of times and will still continue to stay here.

I like the Woraburi for its location, it’s a short walk to the Nana BTS so getting around is nice and easy, it’s also a short walk to the nightlife.
I enjoy the live music at Hillary 2 and sitting out the front of Fitzgerald’s people watching.

You get a nice rooftop pool with a bar and restaurant, and a main bar and restaurant downstairs.
The rooms I’ve stayed in have been or a good size, I may have been lucky on the standard rooms as I know some people have said these are on the small size. The deluxe rooms are my pick, but if you want that extra space go for the suite.

Aspira Hiptique Sukhumvit 13

This hotel surprised me, it’s a budget-friendly hotel that’s tucked away down a quiet road. And only a short walk from the Insanity Nightclub and also a really nice Indian restaurant called Dubai Restaurant. Both are worth checking out!

The hotel does have a rooftop pool, it’s on the small side but big enough for a swim to cool off in the heat. And there is also a restaurant and bar to keep you topped up. As with most hotels, there is also a shuttle service, seemed to rotate every 10-15min to and from the main road.

The rooms are of a good size and they have gone for the minimalist look and feel. WiFi was was fast and the aircon was nice and cool. They only thing I didn’t like about the rooms was the open bathroom/seating area set up. It didn’t feel private and (to me) just didn’t make sense.

All in all, I would still stay and recommend the Aspira Hiptique if you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel that isn’t too far out from all the shopping and nightlife.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel

I was a bit hesitant at adding the Baiyoke Sky Hotel to this list as it’s far from being budget-friendly. They sometimes have a good deal going on and I’ve thought why not!

While the room was a little run down and I got the feeling it could do with a little update. This doesn’t distract from the beautiful view of the Bangkok skyline.

My only real issue with this hotel is the main entrance and elevators. You use the same entrance and elevators as all the tours that come and go, and this means you can be stuck in a queue just to get to the main lobby!

The hotel has a revolving observation deck, 24hr coffee shop, open-air golf range, fitness centre, Spa, grocery store, rooftop bar, live entertainment and more!

If you’re at a loose end for 2-3 days at the end of your trip, it’s worth looking to see if you can get a good deal and enjoy what the Baiyoke Sky Hotel has to offer.

SV Place Suvarnabhumi

I wanted to add SV Place to the list of Bangkok hotels for those that are looking for something next to the airport for those late/early flights where you don’t really have the time to head into the more popular areas of Bangkok.

I’ll put it out there, this is a simple and basic hotel but one that does the job very well if you just want somewhere clean and comfy for the night.

You’re not far from some shopping malls, around 10-15min drive. The staff were more than happy to arrange a taxi if needed.
You also have some local restaurants within walking distance. Most with open-air seating and at night you get to see the plans landing.

Worth a look if all you are after is somewhere to crash for a few hours before your next flight. Good size rooms, clean and comfy.
